CONSTRUCTION DETAILS
Coffee Roaster drum is a Stainless Steel cylinder (with 5/32\" perforations) and has stainless steel end caps. Interior of coffee roaster drum has 3 stainless steel vanes that each extend the length of coffee roaster drum. Coffee Roaster Drum is welded construction. Coffee Roaster has a rear heating element (1250 watts), and a bottom heating element (800 watts), each on its own electric circuit and each circuit with its own power cord. Coffee Roaster uses 110 volts AC and draws less than 20 amps with both coffee roaster circuits plugged in and operating. Interior of roaster is lit during operation. Coffee Roaster has a built in exhaust ventilation system that draws roasting smoke out of coffee roaster which you then need to pipe to the outdoors. I provide a 4\' length of collapsible aluminum tubing that you can stick out a window; however you may wish to utilize a more permanent exhaust pipe solution if you roast often. This coffee roaster is designed for indoor use, however if you intend to do roasts darker than City+ (medium roast), to accomodate the much denser roasting smoke typical of dark roasts you may wish to add on a supplemental exhaust system or roast outdoors with it. The coffee roaster is based upon a professionally modified for coffee roasting RONCO 4000 rotisserie. Complete operating and roasting instructions included. ROASTING PROCEDURE
To use coffee roaster you remove drum from dual rod/gear plate assembly, swing open drum cap and fill drum with beans. Close drum cap, and attach dual rod/gear plate assembly and insert into coffee roaster. Close front heat proof glass see-thru coffee roaster door and turn both heating elements on and turn drum rotation motor on (drum rotates at approx 9 RPM). Turn exhaust fan on when you notice roasting smoke inside of roaster. Roast to desired roast, remove drum from coffee roaster, remove drum from dual rod/gear plate assembly, swing open coffee roaster drum cap and dump beans into your cooling pan or bean cooler/dechaffers which is available in our store. Each heating element has its own switch so you may turn on or off either one at any time during roast as you desire. Typical roasting times are 25 to 30 minutes for a full 2 lb. load to City+ roast. Less beans being roasted will decrease the amount of time needed to achieve desired roast. You may preheat coffee roaster to get a 5% to 10% reduction in roasting time. Fully explain the issue. Maybe I will find that the issue is best resolved by a quick & easy fix done over the phone; or maybe bestresolved by me personally examining the roaster and determining what needs to be done from there. If the coffee roaster does need to be looked at by me all you do is ship me the roaster (at your expense) and I will at my cost either repair it or replace it, at my discretion, and then I ship it back to you (at my expense).Coffee Roaster comes in black or white, my choice no exceptions. Check with local zoning and fire department for necessary permits, smoke ductwork needed, etc. prior to purchase if you have any questions regarding such. Obey all safety precautions at all times. Never leave your roaster unattended while roasting. Heat proof gloves should be worn when handling drum or hot roaster. Extension cords should not be used with roaster (or any electric roaster for that matter) as they typically lower voltage.
