Marc Chagall The Kiss China Canister D.Burrows Chaleur MASTER ROMANTICS series
This canister is from the Chaleur MASTER ROMANTICS series by D. Burrows. The scene that wraps around the white canister features an interior with a couple -- and a view out a window. Burrows interpretation of Chagall’s art (themes, colors, designs, etc.) is wonderful. In this room, with a bright orange floor, the man is airborne as he turns his head to kiss the woman (carrying a bouquet of flowers). Above the yellow and orange bedspread is a multicolor paisley and floral panel / painting (with a gray one to the left).
The canister is approximately 8 1/8“ x under 5 1/4“. There is an off white rubber seal / ring inside the lid for a tight fit. The lid is decorated with a closeup of the kissing couple. The china / porcelain canister (both the lid and the base) have a shiny /glossy white glaze. There is a small crack on the lip that i did not even notice until I took the photos, almost invisible but is there if you look hard enough, see last photo
