Mid Century Modern Blenko Blue 14 Petal Glass Bowl, Signed
Being offered is aBlenko 14 petal heavy glass bowl. This bowl weighs almost 5 pounds! Lovely color, but since we don\'t know much about Blenko we will do our best to describe what we see. First, we will need for the buyer to examine the photographs and decide for themselves what thecolor is. Ourdescription would be either sapphire blue or peacock blue.When held up to the light, the bowl appears to have a \'crack\' on the bottom, but it actually is a mold mark (see photographs), not a crack. There are a few small bubbles presenthere and there in the glass as well. The interior is smooth and shiny. The rim where the tips of the petals are is also smooth to the touch. The exterior of the bowl is textured with a smooth finish and molded to form the petals shape. The foot of the bowl is indented. There is a acid mark on the bottomedge of this indent identifying itas \"Blenko\".
Measurements: The bowl stands approximately 3 1/2 inches off the table and it has a diameter of approximately 8 3/4 inches across.
Condition: We carefully examined this bowl. There is only some very faint, light wear on the bottom that you really need to look close to see. Mentioned for accuracy is the moldedstraw markthat is on the underside that gives the appearance of a crack, but is not. Due to the dark blue color, this is not verynoticeable except when the bowl is held up to the light or light surface. Other than that, the bowl has NO Chips, Cracks, Scratches, Stains,Repairs or Restorations to note. Please take the time to examine all the photographs for more details.
