LARGE, heavy Trench-art lamp. It looks like a dummy, INERT artillery shell casing with really nice brass. I cannot find any markings anywhere, and I do not want to disassemble the lamp.IT CANNOT BE CONVERTED TO ANY TYPE OF LIVE DEVICE.
It is about 1 1/2 ft tall, not counting the shade support. It is also very heavy ( about 10 lbs.) The only two indicators I see are the very old style two-prong brown plug ( which I believe was used pre-1945), so it could be WW1 or WW2. The other factor is that it came with a bunch of WW2 German souvenirs, but I cannot ascertain exactly that it is, French, or even U.S for that matter.
Dimensions are:
* 10 1/2 inches tall for the BRASS CASE* 14 inches tall TOTAL* 10 1/2 inches in diameter
It belonged to a former 1st INF DIV veteran that passed on a few years ago, and we acquired his house on a probate, with many wartime items in the property.
Sold as you see it.
