DESCRIPTION:This sale is for an original Model 1858 Saber Bayonet. From a very old collection assembled in the 1980s and the first time available since then. Brass handle. Blade is marked \"MS\" on one side of the blade and \"1858\" on the other. No sheath. Bayonet measures 27 3/8\". Very nice piece. Mississippi made? First one I\'ve seen, but I am no expert in this category. This is a very nice early, Pre-Civil War made piece. Check back for more items from this early military collection.
