Hot Rod Go Kart Features
Upholstery kit: Comes with pleated inner surround, Padded bench seat, Carpet kit and a couple of misc pieces. When I purchased the GoKart the upholstery was neatly packed in a box. I dont think it was ever installed because it looks brand new. Its a grayish color. There is a littledirty spot on the bench seat but think it would easily clean up.
Chassis & Drive train : Built with 2"x1" steel box tubing and painted black. Rolls on a 1" solid live axle in back and a 1.25" tubular chrome axle in front. Front axlehas 2 chrome leaf springs up front with a perch....too cool. It stops with a mechanical disc brake mounted on the rear axle. Pads look to be in good shape and work great. Rear tires are 205x50xR10 (approx 8" wide), front tires are 4.1x3.5x6 (approx 3" wide). The tires still have a few of the little rubber nubs and lots of tread. The wheels have that nostalgic look of cragars up front and halibrands in the back and they look great! The motor is a 5hp Briggs & Stratton. It has a pull start cord and an electric starter. The electric starter only works with a battery and ignition switchwhich areNOT INCLUDED.I do build custom cars for a living and could wire a switch and battery in for a negotiated price. The Motor starts easily with a pull or two and runs like new. To get power to the back wheels it is chain and sprocket driven with a centrifigal clutch on the motor.
Body: Made out of fiberglass and gel coated black. The gel coat shows some fading, scratches and nicks but nothing major(it was built in the 80's). I have looked over the entire body and have found no cracks. It has a windshield (plexi glass for safety) with chrome posts and trim for the top and bottom. The little trunk on back features the Ford script logo and so does the grill shell up front. The grill shell up front has also never been installed. I began fitting it and should be pretty easy to bolt down.
I have only seen one other Go Kart like this...it was in a magazine at a car show all painted up. I was told it was built in the mid 80's and other than that I have no idea where it comes from. It is almost 7 ft long and 4 ft wide. I am 31 yrs old..5'11" and 200lbs and I drive it around my neighborhood :) It would fit 2 kids easily, or 1 adult.
I am willing to ship but any and all shipping arangements need to be handeled by the buyer! I'll drop it off or deliver locally.
Thanks for looking and good luck!
