You are now admiring one of my custom made Monarch jackets.Patternedusing an original War era half beltMonarch jacket. That original patternjacket(as seen in the last pic) was used tocreatethis rendition. Let me tell you all about it!

This particular jacket wasdone in the style ofone of myoriginal Monarchhalf beltjacketswith a twist.I say this becausein this casethe original shape of theinterim panel was modified.Done by moving the cinch belt to a lower position, smoothing outthe interim panel (seen in 2nd to the last pic) so it does not choke downinto what is normally seen on a half beltasa much more constrictedhour glassshape.Thus lending to a more modern cut. In the end, that singlemodificationdone to this jacket gaveit(2\" to 2 1/2\") gutroom. Otherwise not found onregular half belt stylejackets that otherwise more completely follow the vintage design. Combine this with Monarch\'s pleasing look & stylingallmaking this jacketan absolute pleasure to wear.

Theouter shell isblackpigmenthorsehide. This horsehide was recently acquired from Italy by a minimum orderand specially made for my use.Known in some circles as Vicenza.The hideis a uniform thickness & a medium weightwhich will require some break in but only just. All stitched both inside and out using100% cotton thread.

On the inside,it\'s plaid lining isa semi smooth light to medium weightthat is 100% wool and made by Pendleton. A heavy black rayon was my choice for the sleeve\'s lining.Allset up withinset100%wool cuffs.

The hardware used to build this fine jacketisas follows.The main zipper is areproduction M-42 nickel Talon by Waldes. For an upgrade I added an original M-39 triple marked nickel straight barslider.While the cigarette pocket is an original 1940\'snickel ball& chain Talon. The cuffed sleeve buttonsare original War era by Colt Firearms.

All constructed using Monarch\'scharacteristic French seams where ever reasonably possible. Allequating to addedcomfort. Because of the exact Monarchmethod of constructionas seen done on thisjacketit has arguably the most comfortable, non point loading(seen inprovided #4 image) shoulder seam found with an action back.All asoriginally done by Monarchon thoseaction back equipped jacketsmade during the late 1930\'s & 1940\'s.Just one of the many points seen that make this make jacket so great.

A few mentionable upgraded itemsfound on this jacket include the two inside pockets.One of which is awelted pocket seen on the jacket\'sright sidealongit\'s lining.That welted pocket is designed to nicely fit glasses or a cell phone. On the rightlapel is amap/pistol pocket that is designedafter Monarch\'s M-422A & well supported.
