NEIL COST BOAT PADDLE CALL
w/ nylon holster
This call was made by the late Neil “Gobbler” Cost.
Neil made this call for me in January, 1994.
Both the lid and the bottom are made from cedar, per my request.
While visiting with Neil and Phyllis in January, 1994, I watched him select the box
from a shelf and a lid which was hanging on a nail in his workshop.
He assembled the call and then “fined tuned” it to get that the tone that he wanted.
He actually changed lids three times before he was satisfied.
When finished he exclaimed, “Now that’s got turkey in it and without chalk".
The inscription reads:
“This old paddle call made for Dennis M. Campbell in appreciation
for his work as Regional Director N.W.T.F. 1-1994”
Signed by Neil Cost
As always, he would pick at me and added:
“This sucker don’t come with a cordura sling –
you got to carry it any way you can” Initialed: NC
NOTE: Neil made an error in printing the word regional and
was going to scrap the lid but I would not let him. Before I left the house that weekend, he gave me a nylon (cordura) holster. I am selling this call because of my age and health.
This is the last of my Cost collection.
It will most assuredly will increase in value and be a
welcome addition for any serious call collector.
Shipments outside the U.S. will require additional postage.
