The NEDSP1062-KBD amplified DSP module enables the bhi DSP noise cancelling to be fitted inside your extension speaker.
It incorporates Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology to provide up to 35dB of noise cancellation and 65dB of tone reduction.
The NEDSP1062-KBD comes complete with fitting instructions for Kenwood SP31 and Yaesu SP8 extension speakers, along with basic fitting instructions for most other types of amateur radio extension speakers. There is now also information for the YAESU SP2000, Icom SP20, Icom SP24, Kenwood SP-23, Kenwood SP430,Kenwood SP-230& Ten Tec model 307Bextension speakers on our website. The module is inserted into audio path of the speaker circuit, in line with the speaker’s own loudspeaker. The power connector comes pre-wired with a 2.1mm power connector, and the corresponding fused DC power lead is supplied. The control keyboard is mounted in a convenient location, and is finished off with the supplied black label to give it a professional look.

Operation: All functions of the NEDSP1062-KBD are controlled by a two push buttons. 1) Filter button - Single press turns the noise cancellation on/off - Holding down the button changes the DSP filter level. 2) Power on/off bypass button - Single press turns the power on/off - Holding filter select button whilst pressing this button enters DSP filter setup and demo mode.

The mode of operation is indicated both visually and audibly. The LED is illuminated red (or Orange if 8 filter levels are selected) when the noise cancellation is off.
When the noise cancellation level is changed the LED will flash green to indicate which level has been selected. Simultaneously the DSP will beep to give audible indication of DSP level. This allows the operator to change the DSP level without having to look at the LED to see which level has been selected. A short beep is emitted to acknowledge a button press. The module will store the current DSP level, and willreturn to this level when the equipment is switched on.
This module is designed to pass speech. Other signals such as data, music and morse (CW) will to some degree pass through depending on the filter level used, but the integrity of these signals cannot be guaranteed.
Note: Also available isthe NEDSP1062-PCBbasic PCB version without a keyboard, this module is ideally suited to designing into new applications or commercial applications.
