These uniforms aresome of the most striking and interesting to research. I haveresearched a number and found one that the soldier was cited forbravery during the Indian Wars when ambushed out west and promoted toBrevet Major and another jacket belonged to a young man who rose tothe ranks of General Officer. This uniform I have not researched anddon\'t know the history of the soldier that this belonged to. It isnamed to “Bischel” and also has info on “address” of “435B”and “register” of “6840”. It is a wonderful looking uniformwith all the buttons and the material and color are both strong. There appears to be no damage to the tunic except some separation ofthe interior sleeve linings. The manufacture tag is present andindicates it was made by “Jacob Reed\'s Sons” in Philadelphia. There is some minor missing or loose black decorative lines at thebutton holes that I tried to illustrate through pictures, but it doesnot detract as that area is covered by the large brass ball stylebuttons. The jacket measures approximately 15 inches from armpit toarmpit indicating an approximate size of 30. There are alsobeautiful bullion vintage sergeant stripes for a Cadet Lieutenant. Ihate parting with these but time to move it on to someone who canappreciate it instead of me keeping it locked away in a closet.
