This is a specialcollection in an old box with samples from four famous North Carolina goldmines. There is gold in quartz fines from the stamp mill at the Rudisill mine,gold in quartz from the St Cathrine Mine, Gold nugget and gold in quartz fromthe Parker Mine and gold fines and gold in quartz from the Reed mine. This isan old set and a must for the gold collector.
I got this North Carolina gold specimen from the family of my best friend. His grandfather and great-grandfather were in the explosives business dealing with many mines in North Carolina in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Over many decades of visiting the mines they were able to acquire many gold specimens from the miners and mine superintendents that work there. These miners would move from mine to mine as they opened and were shut down. Back in the early days of mining high-grade specimens sometimes made their way into the miners lunch boxes and the mine superintendents will collect samples. These North Carolina gold specimens might not be as flashy as the other specimens I\'m selling but they are very valuable as a historic peace of our states mining past.
