Here is a very old totemic painted hat from the Northwest coast. I believe some research into the painted design could eventually reveal the tribal origin.The woven hat features a wonderful beaver face and two birds in it\'s design as well as some more abstract creatures on other sides.. It is in very good condition, save for the faint red designs which faded over the years. Note, the beautiful dark fur pelt sewn around the rim.
