Up for sale i have a antique Norwegian Rosemaled travel trunk, the trunk is dated 1858 or 1838 and has the full name of owner \" Gulbrand Hansen Hagen\" the trunk comes from a farm in the county of Sogn og Fjordane, but has been Rosemaled by a Hallingdal painter, I have now researched this piece and contacted an expert on Hallingdal painters and his opinion was that it has been painted by Sevat Bjørnson Uppheim 1809-1889, these painters often went over the mountains to find work painting items on farms, the rosemaling is really special with floral patterns both inside and outside, the inside is unique with a hatch that holds the top of the inside to the lid and this i have never seen, has white chalk color with rosemaling inside also, special type of hatch lock fully functional with original key. This would be a great adition to any collection of Norwegian, Swedish or Danish farm antiques. Measures 39\" wide 25\" tall and 20\" deep so not to big and easy to place.
