The Ohio Band Instrument Company was started by Foster Reynolds and made in the Cleveland, Ohio H. N. White King plant during the Second World War.
This is a charming, silver plated, simple cornet, uniquely designed, which is tightly made and plays easily. It has all the quality of the regular King line, which was not made during the war, but without any amenities or finer points.
The horn is small with an extra recurve in the bell run by the first valve casing. This makes it very suitable for a younger player but it has the slick look and feel of a trumpet. The valve springs are at the bottom of the valve casings, and similar to the system Conn used in professional horns. A little noisy and not as elegant as the Conn version but the valve plating is excellent and they function smoothly. The convenient size makes it a good practice horn to take on a trip or vacation.
Just a couple of small, very insignificant dings, while the matte finish silver plating fully intact and not worn through. Unlike many older horns the top rod for the tuning slide is present and fully functional. Case latch springs are working.
