This is a really rare old antique nickle plated brass \"gold coin lid with lock\".
This lid comes with it\'s original strike plate and two screws, but unfortunately it is missing its key.
This lid came off an old early 1900\'s National Cash register Model 35 no 2, which was dated 1902.
I suspect, however that this lid is compatible with National cash registers from the late 19th to the early part of the 20th centuries.
The lid measures as follows:
Diameter of the Side of the two prong hinges - approx 3 1/8\" (not including the prongs). Including the prongs, the total diameter is approx 3 1/2\". Each prong is about 3/16\" in diameter.
Diameter of \"Non Prong\" sides is approx 3 1/2\".
The iron strike plate measures approx 1 1/4\" long by 1/2\" wide and is thin, maybe 1/32\" thick.
Please check the measurements of the lid to see if it will fit your machine\'s cash drawer cubby hole.
There is a gentle (slight) bend to the lid along the \"prongs\" side (not sure if this original), but I\'m mentioning it for accuracy.
Also, one side of the key hole is a little bent upward where someone must have tried opening the drawer with something like a screwdriver.
Both bends can be \"bent back\" easily I would suspect, if the buyer should desire to.
The nickel plating is mostly intact and the design and punch work is really elegant.
A super rare gold drawer with strike plate and screws!
