Early Merrythought \'Woosie\' siamese cat soft toy. Circa 1930.
(One of two Merrythought Woosies I currently have on )This adorable looking siamese cat was made by Merrythought circa 1930, their first year of production
and is known as Woosie\' as can be seen on the label. Woosie is an unjointed cat standing at 20\" tall
and is stuffed with kapok with just a little wood wool in her nose. She has been loved and has some thinning
and bare areas to her mohair but I would estimate she has retained approximately 70% coverage overall and
she is in otherwise good, sturdy condition with all her original features intact. One of Woosies paw pads
has some old moth holes but these are sewn over the backing fabric so she is not leaking any stuffing.Woosie has two labels, one on her back with her name on it and another on her foot which reads -
MADE IN ENGLAND BY MERRYTHOUGHT\' which was only used in their first year of production and dates
her from 1930-31. She is a rare toy and has a wonderfully expressive face and she would make
