23 1/4" long. High arching on the top and back plates. As you can see in the photos, there are dings, scratches and finish wear.
There's a small hairline to the left of the saddle, and, to the right of the saddle a small piece of the plate edge has been re-glued.
A seam separation on the bottom of the back plate, under the the end pin, has been re-glued. The fingerboard and the face of the neck have a matching
IX number. Included is the bridge, sound post, and tailpiece. The man's head on the peg box looks to a later added graft-on. Perhaps it's old man Hopf himself (?).
Branded Hopf under the button, and also internally.
There are many violins branded Hopf, and the reason I believe this to be an older one is because of the high arching.
Some glue, polish, a little TLC, and it should make a good playing instrument. No case.At any rate, this is being sold as-found, as-is, it-is-what-it-is, and there are no returns. Please carefully examine the photos.$30 S&H fully insured via UPS Ground to the continental U.S.
If this turns out to be an overcharge, I'll refund the difference.
