When I was 10 I bought this car at a garage sale and made it new again. As a boy, I had many fun days playing with it. As I got older, I put it up on my shelf and there it stayed...never using it again. Now I am 54, I think someone else should get the same enjoyment I did. It was running when I put it up on the shelf. All I have done is wiped the dust off of it. Measures about 10 inches long and quality made. Marked on the bottom: “Roy Cox, THIMBLE DROME Champion, SPECIAL, Made in Santa Ana. Calif.” Dates to the 1947-1953 period I believe.Condition is good. The blue finish has wear. Someone asked if the wheels turn? The front ones do, but the back ones don\'t. Probably from sitting so long. They were working when I used it as a kid.
