For sale is an original W H Horstmann & son M1850 Staff and Field Officer sword originally came from Pennsylvania.Condition: The grip has the sharkskin wrap with original coiled wire still remain and the grip seems to be complete without missing piece. The whole guard has very good patina. Original leather buffer was gone with time. The blade is in fair to good condition with some areas of stain and slight pitting. One side of ricasso has etched \"W. H. Horstmann & Sons Philadelphia\" and the other side the King\'s head which shows the blade was made by Weyersberg, below that is what looks like a punched number \"61\", but could it be a year code 1861? I am not sure; maker stamps are very clear as shown in the photos.. The drag shows wear and this means this sword has actually seen extensive service. Overall in untouched condition. This does not turn up often and it is also the same model Stonewall Jackson carried during the Civil War and which is now kept in the Museum of ConfederacyI ship overseas except some countries for free, please make sure your local regulation allow sword import.
