For sale is an original matching WWII No. 32 MKI British Sniper Scope, mount, metal case, and tool for the Enfield No. 4 T sniper rifle. The scope is a No. 32 Mk I model with the brass front sunshade and the brass sliding rear eyeshade. The scope is marked on the top of the tube \"TEL. STG. No. 32 Mk I\" \"H.B.M.Co. OS. 466A\" \"REGd. No 4847\" with the British Broad Arrowhead proof below. \"H.B. M. CO. stands for Houghton, Butcher Manufacturing Co. OS 466A is the optical store part number for the Mk I scope. \"No 4847\" is the scope serial number. While the scope is a Mk I, it has the later style adjustment knob tops found on the later Mk II and III scope. Overall, the scope finish is in good to very good condition, with some paint loss on the brass parts and some other wear. Please see the photos. The view though the scope is very good with some dirt specks on the post and cross hair and around the edges of the scope. These specks do not interfere with the use of the scope. Please see picture. The adjustment knobs turn easily. The scope mount is marked on the left front leg with \"N92\". This indicates manufacture by Dalglish & Son, Glasgow. Near the rear leg the mount is marked \"AM7443\", the rifle serial number noted in the case. It does appear that another number was removed from the mount when it was numbered with the AM7443. On the right side of the mount, the rear clamping rings are both stamped \"C745\"and the front rings are stamped \"C746\". This numbering was done to insure the rings were assembled in proper order. The mount is in good to very good condition. Please see the photos. The case was designed to hold the scope and mount and the scope adjustment tool. There are also metals loops on the ends and bottom of the case that allowed a leather strap to be attached. The case is stamped on the top \" CASE STG. TEL. No8. B&Co 1941\" Below this stamping is the British broad arrow head proof mark. The top of the case also has the word \"RIFLE\" stenciled on it. There is no number after the stencil. A paper tag is glued inside the case and states that the case is for \"Rifle No. AM7443 and for \"Telescope No. 4847\". The tag also has label specifications, the date of 4/43 and the tag manufacturer info. The inside of the case also has the fittings for the scope and the adjustment tool. The fitting for the scope uses the locking screws on the mount to lock the scope in the case. The fitting for the adjustment tool has a spring clip which holds the tool. The dark green painted outside of the case does show wear. Please see the pictures. I would rate the paint condition as at least good to very good for its age. The paint inside the case is in very good to excellent condition. Both locking clasps are present and working. This complete set was acquired over 7 years ago It has not been used in the field.
