From an older NW CT estate ~
A Fabulous and Fanciful Victorian Parlor stove!
It\'s Newberry, Filley & Co\'s Patent Chapel Parlor, Pat\'d 1856, Troy, New York.
It\'s cast iron, and surprisingly light for its size, about 75 pounds or so.
This ornate beauty measures 39\" wide, by 18-1/4\" deep, by close to 34-1/2\" high.
The fire chamber measures 19\" wide, by 10\" deep, by close to 18\" high.
The base is approx. 7\" high; the crown finial measures 10-1/2\" high.
There are two sliding doors in front, over a pull-out tray. The right side opens up with the twist of a knob. Lifting up the finial exposes a flat plate covering the fire chamber; so this stove can be stoked and cleaned by several ways.
The feet slide on and off. A missing rear-right foot has been professionally recast in perfect facsimile at some point in the past; please note the last picture.
Let your eyes dwell lovingly upon the elaborate floral sculptings of the metal! Not an inch has gone unadorned! Can you imagine how terrificthis stovewill look with a nice coat of stove-blacking? A labor of love, yes; but well worth it!
CONDITION is Very Very Good ~ we see no cracks or warpings; all parts are present, chamber is still dusty. The iron has an overall deeppearly-gray color; we see NO rust.
