CHROME ASHTRAY
World War II era. The plane, an iconic P-38 lightning, has moveable props, and it pivots on its mount allowing multiple poses. The props are held on by small brass screws.
Propellers, airplane, support, continent, and kangaroo are all separate pieces. The chrome shows some slight pitting and roughness in places. I cleaned it up a bit with some non-abrasive chrome cleaner, but there are still small areas that could be polished further. I didn\'t touch the prop screws, because with a bit of tarnish, they match the rest of the plane nicely
I took a lot of pictures under a lot of different lighting conditions.. Please look at them closely. they are part of the description. I believe this could be described as very good+ condition. Remember it is over 70 years old. It has what I believe is the original owner\'s name etched into the tray. Please see photos. This would look great on your desk or bookshelf. While I had this displayed, it generated a lot of interest.
