I’m selling my Palstar R30A shortwave communications receiver and accessories. The unit is in overall good condition but does have a few dings on the leading edges of the cabinet around the frequency display. There is also a small tear in plastic film that covers the display. I believe you could us a pair of tweezers and fully remove the film but as it never really bothered me I chose not to and I’ll leave that up to the new owner to decide to or not. By way of compensation for the lack of power supply and the minor cosmetic issues I’m throwing in a MFJ 16010 random wire antenna tuner ($70.00 retail), 100’ of copper wire rope, some lead in wire, a pair of dog bone insulators and headphones. I’m also including and a nice little intro book to shortwave listening written by Harry Helms.
The R30 is a very sensitive and well-regarded receiver that features quality Collins filters. Beyond that the R30A is actually made in USA. I will post photos of the unit powered up as soon as I ‘ve gathered up the required 10 AA batteries that power the unit when used as a portable. This unit will be shipped in its original box surrounded by packing material in a larger sacrificial box. Below are some technical specifications -
