Description: Antique Philco Radio Model 41-221 (1941)
This PhilcoRadio, which has had the cabinet professionally refinished, was made in 1941,one year before radio production in the U.S. was halted for World War II. The radio features shortwave and theBroadcast Band (the standard AM Band). Think of all the historic broadcasts thisradio played during the war years. Ituses six tubes giving it great sensitivity on all bands including the shortwavebands.
· Tubes:35Z3, 35A5, 7C6, (2) 7B7, XXD
· Approximate Dimensions: 12 ½” x 8 ½” x 7”
· Cabinet condition: The cabinet has been refinished (check thepictures) and a new dial cover has been installed. The knobs and the escutcheon are original.
· Radio condition: The radio plays well. I even received WWV on shortwave.

The highvoltages encountered in antique/vintage vacuum tube equipment, can be dangerousand possibly LETHAL. Do not:
· Remove radio chassis from its cabinet. The cabinet serves as a protective barrierbetween you and the high voltage.
· Depend on the front panel lights for primarypower status as they can burn out/open or not even be present.
· Depend on the AC switch to disconnect theline voltage from the primary circuitry of the equipment. Play it safe…unplug it!
If youdo work around high voltage circuits, touch the equipment with only one hand.
I assumeno liability and am not responsible for accident or injury or financial lossfrom unsafe practices and techniques utilized in the construction, testing, andrepair of the equipment featured in this description.
Pleasenote that I do not combine shipping if you buy multiple radios from me. Combined shipping of radios just increasesthe chances of breakage in shipment.
Myradios are offered for sale for use as a project, for parts utilization, forthe collectability aspect, for the antique nature of the radio, or just foryour listening pleasure. I don’t sell “AS FOUND”. “As found” is a seller’s ploy to notfully disclose problems with a product in an effort to get a higher offer or todisqualify giving a refund or allowing a return.
My radios always have somevalue added--it might be testing, cleaning, reconditioning, fixing, cabinetrepair and polish (re-bond de-laminations and/ or popped joints, gluehairlines, and clean/polish), electrical repair (replace capacitors, resistors, tubes, or other parts as necessary), etc.
I do my best todescribe the radio’s condition honestly and accurately. If you have anyquestions about any aspect of the radio, please ask, and definitely look at thepictures. If more pictures are desired, I can take more and add to thedescription.
All playing/working radiosare tested prior to shipping. The radioswill not have a warranty, because the radios are usually 50 years old or more, and their lifetimes may be limited. Aradio may not even work after delivery due to damage during shipping or afailure of an aged component. Thisnon-working condition does not mean that the radio was shipped in a conditionnot as described.
All radios will bepackaged quite well with adequate buffering and stability so as to minimize anypossibility of breakage during shipment. A lot of jostling in shippingcan possibly break the radio, and I have no control over how the shipperhandles the package.Pleasecontact me if you encounter shipping problems.I ship only to U.S. addresses. I will accept returns under the E-Bay 14-day return policy if theradio does not substantially meet the listing description. The buyer pays the return shipping, andthe radio must be returned in its original condition with all original parts.
Again,if you have any questions about this radio, please ask. If after you buy and receive a radio andencounter a problem, please do not open an “E-Bay Case” without firstcontacting me to help you resolve the problem.
After you receive the radio, I appreciate your positiveresponse.
