This is a very rare and scaresPioneer Vacuum tube integrated amplifier. Pioneer made a very similar looking amplifier using solid state circuitry. This uses a solid state rectifier but all other gain and power stages are vacuum tube. This amp employs 7189 tubes in push pull. The is no problem getting a solid 30 watts of clean listening power from this amplifier. This amp is very clean and shows little use. It also has been out of service for 15-20 years. It was sound tested after running on a variac for a few days. The amp is full working, yet the switches and controls are very dirty and noisy. The electrolytics did not heat up during sound test and there is no noticeable hum. As with any 6Bq5 based amp, the bass response is very nice and the amp is quite punchy. This amp has many capacitors that should be inspected before being put into regular service. this is a very early piece of Pioneer audio and should be appreciated.The chassis shows no rust or pitting, the chassis is dusty and could use a good cleaning.All original knobs are intact. All original Japanese vacuum tubes are in place. No capacitors appear to have been replaced during its lifetime. This amp is very original and in fine shape but does have some light scratching and shows that it has been used. Amp will be shipped in a double wall electronics box.
