Pre-WW1 U.S Army Engineers Machete/Bolo Knife Collins 1005 Rare HORN Handle : $156.99
Very heavy and large machete/knife used by U. S. army Engineers during WW1 into WW2. Some claim it was used during the Spanish American War in 1898 but I have read articles refuting that. Don\'t know. OAL is 20\" 1ith a 15\" upswept blade that is 2 3/4\" at widest point. \"Hartford\" and \"1005\" stamped on blade. \"Collins\" not visible. Hard to find horn handle; most were wood. Although cracked, handle very securely affixed. Scabbard is leather with embossed design. Leather in good shape with n0 cracks or splits. Rub marks on bottom edge. Throat and chafe made of brass.
