This is for a very old stoneware pitcher thatprobably dates to the late 1800's to very early 1900's. It is hand made as youcan see the finger grooves especially on the inside. It has an attached handle.The colors are a tan grayish cream base color with bands of blue. The inside isa very dark brown glaze. There is a lot of primitive character to this piece.The maker wasn't too careful with the glazes, in that there are skips, dripsand smudges. There are a couple of brown spots right above the top blue band onone side that is under the glaze, probably a couple of drips from the browninside glaze. I didn't find any cracks, just some roughness around the top lipand bottom edge with a little and some crazing and a couple of expected little chips. Looks like the bottom wasattached after the sides were done. The inside is very nice with no pitting inthe bottom. Could maybe use a little cleaning but will leave that for newowner. This pitcher is just a great piece and very primitive making it a niceaddition to anyone's collection. Just look at photos for condition and if youhave any questions please ask before offerding.
