PYRUS II is adapted for digging early varieties of potatoes at a very low level of damage to bulbs, can also be adapted for digging root vegetables of all kinds (i.e. carrot, parsley, red beet). Use of this machine eliminates the manual collection of potatoes out of the ground in a very uncomfortable and burdensome position.It is used to harvest potatoes on light and medium-concise soils with scaling up to 5t/ha, on the ground of inclination5ยบ, onplantations with row spacing of 62.5 to 75 cm. PYRUS II with a picking table is one-row, mounted machine equipped with a service platform; it is driven from the PTO and powered from the tractor hydraulics. The digger except its digging assembly (frame, plough, conveyor set) has an additional platform and picking table with baggers. The plough has a hard plate share that cuts a furrow and transmits it to the conveyor tape, where the furrow is crushed and soil is sifted. The intensity of shaking, depending on the soil, is effected by tilting of the rake arms. Then, the potatoes, scales and lumps that were not sifted away on the conveyor tape are directed to the picking table and there they are hand-selected by the service (5-7 persons) and directed to the side conveyors. The potatoes are transferred to bagging and loaded to bags or boxes and the leftovers such as scales and lumps fall from the middle conveyor to the ground. At the time of replacing the bags or boxes, the service stops side conveyors by shutting off their drive.
