R J Horner Footstool
Made in Paris, this authentic issue by R J Horner retains its original label and is in fine structural condition.
Once fitted with cane, this seat now has upholstered top and a matching cushion. The fabric portions look to be from the 1930\'s era.
Should you wish to have the cane replaced, rest assured, all the holes look to be in fine condition -- it should be an easy job for a qualified individual. (Also, consider finding a \'junk\' antique caned piece of furniture so as to \'cannibalize\' the cane ... old caning remains viable with the proper handling and will keep the piece in period condition.)
The footstool is French in origin and exemplifies Horner\'s early Louis XVI style furnishings offered when he first commenced as a furniture manufacturer. Horner\'s work is among the best from the late Victorian period and into the early 20th C.
The surface of the footstool is untouched and in original condition.
