Rare 1958 Hungerford Peanuts Gang Schroeder With Piano Figurine Very rare original vintage Peanuts squeek toy of Schroeder with his Piano, by Hungerford, made in 1958 as part of the first collectible Peanuts Gang toy figurines.
Made of rubber / soft plastic (some people call it vinyl or latex too). They do not have any cracks or holes/punctures whatsoever, and the rubber is soft, smooth and supple. Schroeder is in G/VG- condition (due to paint loss and minor scuffs) and his piano is in VG condition. The piano would be in Excellent condition if not for the initials in black marker on bottom. The piano is usually missing with this figure so it is even more rare. Schroeder measures about 7 1/2 inches tall. The piano has a detailed bust of Beethoven on top.
It does have some paint loss and small scuffs as can be seen from the pictures (not on piano though). The initials "DR" can be seen in black marker under the bottom of both pieces, which are my mother's initials who was also the original owner (and had been stored in a box in our house ever since). These toys were played with but kept in good condition. Also engraved into the plastic under both pieces is "(c) United Features Syndicate" and the letters "N.F".
