Wow What a Find!!!! C.S. Bell No.1 Cast Iron Farm Dinner School Bell. This is the earliest version of a bell that this company made, After 1886 C.S. Bell & Co was put on these. So this one was made approximately between 1875 and 1882 according to researching. This bell is made of heavy cast iron. A No. 1 Bell such as this one is VERY HARD to find, especially in good physical condition. This one even has the Rope Pull which is usually missing or broken. Folks you dont find em like this everyday, so dont miss out. This one is marked C.S. Bell 1 Hillsboro O. On the back is no writing. On the hanger is Chrystal Metals 1, Also on the reverse side marked No. 1 Upright 1886. This bell has No cracks or breaks that I can See, has pitting as all old bells like this one do. Yoke on top of the bell is loose, I have not tried to fix it. Should be an easy fix though. Has a very loud ring. Clapper is in good condition with minor pitting. This one is ready to hang, or put in your collections. Shipping is to lower 48 states only. Again, these No. 1 Bells made by C.S. Bell are scarce, and very old. Bottom of bell measures 14 1/2 across, Yoke on top of bell Measures 17 1/2 from side to side. hanger is 18 in at widest point. Marked 1 on bell, hanger, and yoke. Please ask all questions prior to offerding. Thanks for looking and good luck!!!
