Offered for your consideration isthis piece of railroad history.
Speeders, Scooters and Handcars have been used by Railroad Maintenance personnel since the beginnings of the railroads.
This is a Track Scoot made by RailTech in Kansas City MO. I think it dates to the 60\'s or 70\'s but not sure. Motor isa 4 HPClinton. It has a centrifugal style clutch.
This Track Scoot is the easiest, least expensive way to own a real piece of Railroad equipment. Unlike many of the larger speeders this is light weight ( I would guess 200 lbs). It alsocan be easilydisassembled. Larger speeders such as the Fairmont are very popular and collectable. These scooters seem to be more rare and hardly ever come up for sale.
Condition: Used, Good, looks to be all original. Needs some repair as listed below, one chassis strut needs to be welded, one wheel is bent, motor does not turn over but I have not put much force on it because it\'s a rope pull start. See pics.
Local pickup only -NO Shipping.
Thisscootermust be picked up at Wheels through Time Museum in Maggie Valley NC. Questions? Call Dale828 734 9222.
