Description :

From the Estate of Jan Johnson, Olympia WA.
I have been entrusted to dispose of mom\'s vast Doll and Bear Collection, we are talking over 500 items that I will be listing in the next few months, this is going to take some time. For the last 8-9 yrs mom would come over every Sunday for a Mocha and to look at all kinds of things on with me... mostly Dolls. Since then I have become a \"Dollman\"... I now know more about dolls than most men will ever know. I am also a Schiffer author and am very knowledgeable with buying and selling antiques/collectibles on , Estates, and Large Shows. I will to my best ability describe my mom\'s loved Dolly\'s and Collectibles... these include Madame Alexander, Nancy Ann, John Wright, Lawton, Steiff, Toby\'s and all kinds of doll accessories... she was a high end collector that was pretty adamant about the condition, she liked to buy new or pristine dolls. She was an expert on Madame Alexander Dolls, President of the Olympia Doll Club and attended many National Conventions.

Description

First off the story behind this doll... Back in 1995, I had the most wonderful in-laws, I can not say that about their daughter... anyway, we used to go to Antique Shows 4-6 of them a yrs... we were all \"collectors\"... one Saturday, we were talking and I mentioned that my mom was a avid doll collector and my Father in Law, Arvid Arne out of fun that he had a doll and we all laughed... and he said, he wasn\'t kidding and went down to the basement and retrieved this doll from his dusty basement shop... time went by and Dolores died in Feb 2001 and 16 days latter Arvid died... my then wife ended up with the doll... in 2004, my ex needed money for her addictions and approached my mom behind my back and begged her to buy the doll... mom said no... and then I was asked to talk to my mom... mom relented and bought the doll. She was not happy about the purchase because of the circumstances and never displayed the doll or showed it off at doll club... and I never heard the end of that acquisition... as we were going through mom\'s dolls I began to wonder where this doll was... my brother found it in the bottom of the last box in the garage... I wonder if that was a bit symbolic of her feelings for my ex... who she never said too many kind words about...

So the doll.. this is a 1962 10\" Cissette Gibson Girl and it is fairly rare that is doesn\'t come on the block that often and back when dolls were up there in price \"booked\" at $1200-1400 ... the solid white blouse version of #760 is even rarer. The box is in only fair cond. I will add new tissue and the cardboard box brace (I think I have one)... The doll is all original and has a tagged dress and both original shoes. Her dress and blouse are clean. I doubt the doll was ever displayed and the hat and net are perfect and have never been removed from the doll. Her nylons are good. Overall this is a pretty good doll except for the box... I took a lot of pictures and if you need more please ask ... I will add insurance on this doll just in case she is lost or crushed in the mail. I just sent a $320 8\" doll and she cost $17.55 to send with insurance by priority mail.

I did notice in the pictures some \"specks\" on the front of the dress .. they are just \"dust\" not stains or dirt, they brush right off.

Here are Klondike Kate with Gold Rush and the Gibson Girl... all are rare...

NOTE...
charges for \"best offers\"... I won\'t be offended by offers if any of my sale don\'t sell. I have already sold several dolls this way ... I am not desperate and don\'t need the money.... what I need is nice homes for mom\'s beloved collection and all fair offers will be considered.

Those living in WA State please come by our Booth at the Crossroads Doll and Teddy Bear Show March 15... my mom had too much to list and I have elected to stop listing items that are inexpensive which include Doll Furniture, Doll Clothing, Broken and naked dolls, doll accessories, bears by other makers (Boyds) ... and more.. I mean MORE

If you don\'t ask questions about condition I can\'t read minds... please ask me anything if you have a question... about shipping, about condition, about history... about life... ask... I don\'t know dolls like I know motorcycles, model airplane stuff and tools and guns but I do my research and there is a lot for me to do to keep this estate stuff going... I want happy homes for these Dolls and Bears...

Eventually those Dolls that don\'t sell in sales will be moved into an store (maybe, I am having second thoughts about the money charges for this service)... I have to find homes for all of them.... I am dealing with a large collection. My bother and I are going to do the Crossroads Teddy Bear and Doll Show in Puyallap WA, March 14-15th and will bring everything we can that is left. There will be a lot.

Please ask any questions... Shipping should be priority mail on all items over $100 with delivery confirmation for our protection... The real high priced stuff will require a signature but there isn\'t a lot of my mom\'s collectibles that will be real high priced, there are a few though. I don\'t make money off shipping but I am going to incur costs to ship these dolls and other items. I have ordered boxes from ULINE. I think it would be wise to send this bear with a delivery confirmation with signature because of the amount.

Mom a couple of yrs ago with my two cousins.

Also... response... I have recently experienced people not leaving response. Only 47% of people are doing so these days on da Bay... if you want me to leave response, this is my request to you... when the engine or items gets to you, leave me response first... this way I know you like the purchase and that it got there... I will always leave response to everyone that leaves it for me..

Typically I try to send high dollar stuff by priority mail but costs have gone up over the last couple of years and will most likely send most of my items by parcel post or first class.. next step down from priority mail.

I will ship world wide but need to figure shipping before sending an invoice..please ask for a quote.. before the sale ends.. Typically a 40 sized engine ships for about $20-25 to France these days.. so little items will be less. Recent Postal increases have caused me to list shipping priced less than I had to pay.. small boxes are going for about $10-15 now.. it is driving me nuts. I also sent one package to India and it never arrived... so add India to my list of places I am not going to mail to..

Feel Free and I encourage you to ask questions if you have any..

Shipping :
Shipping terms are usually by priority mail on the higher end stuff and first class and the lower end none breakable items.. I sent all books by media.. I try to ship out in 2 days of getting payment. Sometimes the week end gets in the way and the PO closes early on Sat.. Payment :
PayPal only to protect you and me.
