RARE 1970 Natural Gibson SG Standard transitional model with 1968 to 1971 features -- a very cool guitar!! == 3-piece neck, original engraved Lyre tailpiece, large pickguard == Neck has a volute, but NO Made in USA -- serial number dates to 1968 on my listbut Gibson used 9xxxxx numbersuntil 1970 == Pots date 18th week of 1970 == Patent Sticker pickups == Tuners are correct style Klusons, but are replacements after the usual Grover retrofit in the 80\'s -- very clean installation == AND -- it has a very rare Natural finish -- I know, I thought maybe it was faded too -- but I\'ve dismantled it and there is no trace of cherry anywhere (see pictures)-- I\'ve seen some pretty brown fades but there was always cherry in protected places; the golden natural finish on this beauty is consistent throughout == VG+ or better -- some wear as shown, frets have been leveled == Neck feels great, medium C profile (what I think of as a 60\'s profile), plays great == Includes Gibson no logo case that is not original but correct == I believe this was a late 1970 build as Gibson finished off their stock of the1960\'s parts, probably technically a 1971 since new guitar models come out in the late fall like new car models -- Gibson began using Natural finish as an SG optionagain in the 1971 model year (of course up til 1970 or so you could order anything if you paid for it lol) ==
