Very rare late 19th Century aqua glass Yuengling beer bottle. It is embossed on the front “D.G. Yuengling Jr. Brew Co. Saratoga Branch Registered.” It is a Hutchinson bottle from the Saratoga Branch of America’s oldest brewery. It is embossed on the backside “This Bottle Not To Be Sold.” The base is embossed “K. Hutter New York,” with a “10” and a “B” in the center.
The bottle was blown in a three-piece mold and I believe it has a hand-applied blob top. It measures 6-1/2” tall by 2-1/2” in diameter at its base. It is a thick heavy glass bottle with the metal closure pieces still in the bottom.
It is in good condition, with some minor staining, as well as some exterior scrapes and wear to the embossed lettering on the backside. Front lettering shows some wear, but is generally in good condition.
I grew up about an hour from Yuengling’s home Branch in Pottsville, PA, where almost everyone was a fan of the beer. It seems like the current 4th or 5th gen owner has really increased the popularity and distribution of the beer over the past couple decades. This is a great bottle for any die-hard fans of the beer or early American beer bottles. , good luck!
