RARE ANTIQUE MISSION STYLE BLACK FOREST AMERICAN CUCKOO CLOCK, WORKING, PHILADELPHIA
Rare Antique Mission-Oak, Style Cuckoo Clock from the American Cuckoo Clock Co. in Philadelphia.Brass Movement and two bellows for the cuckoo in good working condition.This clock was handcrafted in the Black Forest area of Germany specifically for The American Cuckoo Clock Company who imported their German made Cuckoo Clocks regularly from 1885.This clock is housed in a Mission style case with the original trapezoid weights and carved wooden pendulum.The weights are tapered at the top mirroring the wooden columns on the clock case.There is a label on the back panel with the Style number (no. 305) and specific directions for hanging and usage.The clock boasts the original full brass dial with black numerals and the original wooden Cuckoo Bird.The Mission Style Wooden Clock case (our research indicates that it is most likely Oak) measures approximately 13” tall (not including the weights or pendulum) by 9 ½” wide by 5 ¼” deep.The brass clock face is 6” in diameter while each weight measures 7” tall including the hook with a 1 ½” across at the bottom base.
