RARE CIVIL WAR .69 CARTRIDGE BOX, MOORES & CO., CIN. O., 1 OF 1000 MADE IN 1863: $150.00
This box is one of the 1000 .69 Cal boxes made by Moores in 1863, as shown in the last picture. The leather is in really nice shape but the closure tab is broken, as most are but the piece is in the boxand the tool pouch strap is also gone. The M1839 box plate is a repro but it is the only size that fit the original slits in the lid. The outline of the original plate looks to have been the larger size. At one time someone added wire loops on the sides, I presume to attach a strap. One is still there. A very rare box especially in this condition. I SELL AND SHIP ONLY TO USA ADDRESSES. On Feb-14-18 at 11:33:16 PST, seller added the following information: Added are two pictures of comparison of .58 box, NOT IN THIS sale, and the .69 roundball box for sale. And no, the .69 box has no tins.
