What a Fabulous Find I came upon at an Estate Sale
I believe this is a tool to repair or restore STEAM GUAGES and this very well could be complete. WOW

The latch on the Box is Pat Oct. 71 (1871?)
You could call this a survivor
I believe this particular kit was used for Maritime purposes because of the US and Anchor embossed on the inside of the box frame (see picture).  These steam guage repair kits were also used for the Railroad System Steam Guages and that is what  you will mostly see on .  This maritime one is highly rare.

The 8 small rules each have different guage measurements.
Some of the springs look to be new.  There is a little bottle of what looks to be oil in its own bracket in the corner.  I tried to lift it out but it is a little tight and did not want to break it (I will leave that up to the new owners discression).  The little tools you see are still in great condition. No corrosion.  
Instructions are on the cover of the inside flap that holds the miscellaneous items in. The instructions look to have had some residual oil on them but are still very readable.  
I do not know a lot about this kind of stuff and I will try to answer any questions you have.
