An estate sale find, this Hawaii Islanders baseball cap will bring back some great Hawaii memories for the baseball fan. Item is in good condition and looks never worn and uses a plastic tab to adjust and is fully adjustable. The Hawaii Islanders was Hawaii’s professional baseball team, a AAA Pacific Coast League member from 1961 to 1987. The bulk of its games were played at fan friendly Honolulu Stadium (1961-1975) and not so friendly Aloha Stadium (1976-1987). Unable to rake in concession revenues at Aloha Stadium and faced with declining attendance, it was a sure sign that its days were numbered and in 1987 it was when the franchise was moved to Colorado Springs. But the 1970 team was its pinnacle, with its 98-48 record, 463,000 fans through the turnstilesand its long history shows alumni such as Hank Allen, Bobby Bonds and many more. This cap will help remember what once was!
