I don\'t believe you will ever find another one like this. It\'s rare especially in this condition.

I have been told that: \"A person who purchased this table in the 1940\'s in this country had to be well to do. It would have been expensive in Germany and then it would have to be shipped to America. This was the top of the line and very expensive.\" It was a show piece then and it\'s been well cared for all these years. \"

This turntable has been professionally serviced and works as it should. The slide out drawer has been adjusted and works great. The wood case is furniture quality design. It will play your 78\'s. Just played Ella Fitzgerald with the Ink Spots and it was so cool to listen to that early sound people listened to back then. Just to watch it work makes you excited to own this rare Dual. Play Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Al Jolson and of course Bing Crosby and relive theirmusic with that cool vintage sound.

I had the Dual\'s cartridge rebuilt by the technician, the motor oiled the arm adjusted plus new cords installed. What is cool is the way the unit turns on and off. You lift the arm, move it to the right (and it turns on), put the needle on the record, it plays and when it reaches the end of the record it cuts off automatically. The technician loved working on this piece and said he had never seen anything like it.

It has a speed control and plays 78RPM records (see the needle in the head shell). The design is beautiful. The drawer drops down and the turntableslides forward so a record can be placed on the felt platter. The chrome tonearmand headshell is very unique and holds a needle for a 78record. What a lovely piece for the collector or the 78 record lover. There are some blemishes on the wood case. Please see all the pictures for condition. Due to it\'s age the unit issold as is.
