Up for offers is this great original WWI era Imperial German officer sword and scabbard by the highly respected sword maker \"Eisenhauer\". It is from the German State of Saxony, whose coat of arms and imperial monogram of King Frederick Augustus III (ruler from 1904-1918) appear in a 5\" gold panel that is on both sides of the blade. This sword is in the scarce 3/4 scale size (this is not a child\'s sword or kinder sabel) with an overall length in scabbard of 32\" (81.5cm). The bright blade is polished steel, not plated and is 25-1/2\" (65cm) in length. Blade is quill-backed or \"T\" shaped in design and it flares to the point. The spine of the blade is marked: \"Gustav Emil Doring, Leipzig\". Edge has been professionally sharpened undoubtably during its period of actual wear. Blade is in bright original polish with in and out wear and minor rust in the ricasso area. Blade has no nicks, pitting or bends. The blade also retains its buffer pad. The grip has a shark skin wrap bound with a triple strand of twisted wire. Both wrap and wire are 100% present. The nickel plated metal grip fittings consist of a knuckel guard, back strap and two folding clamshell guards, both of which function properly. The grip and the guard are tight to the blade. The field scabbard is iron that is blued or blackened. The scabbard is an excellent fit to the blade.
