RARE VINTAGE OAK & BIRCH HAMILTON DRAFTING DRAWING SMALL LIGHT TABLE : $750.00
I have owned this table for over 40 years . It originally came from a famous Disney Caricature Artist , Roy , the animator for the \" original \" Mickey Mouse Club TV show back in the 50\"s . I grew up in Burbank on Avon St. & Roy lived down the street . Still wish I had a photo of his backyard because next to his pool was two large rubber alligators just like the ones on the Jungle Boat ride ! I guess Walt hooked him up . My name is Kevin White , ( infamous artist in some circles ) retired now , 67 and downsizing my world . After creating thousands of original designs on this table , I\'ve decided to let it go along with a lot of other stuff . Table top measures 31 inch by 32 , very heavy , and all original hardware and fittings . Easily adjusts up or down , front to back and any tilt desired . The 3/8 thick frosted glass is original and I just replaced the 2 old school neon lights & starters that\'s easy on the eyes . This feature is fantastic for drawing overlays , color separations , and \" in between \" line drawing for comic strips . I don\'t believe anything on the market today compares with the practicality of this drawing table . When I originally bought it , I added the 2 oak strips on top and face for easy alignment , squaring of art . I also did a light sand and lacquer refinish on top . 26 years ago , my 11 yr. old son Nate , engraved his name & age on it ( shown in photo ) . After the initial shock , and scolding , I decided to leave it , ( so cool ) rather than sand and refinish . it\'s not deep , and today , Nate has become one helluva graffiti artist in his own right . I felt it necessary to mention all these details because this isn\'t just any table , but a piece of history , California Americana . This table is heavy and I checked with a few carriers and as an example , crating and freighting to new hampshire from san diego is 320/.00 . So , I do have the capabilities of shipping this table and cost would be on buyer . Well , thanks for looking and hope I haven\'t bored you too much .
