Very Unusual and Rare WWII 1943 U.S. ARMY/BRITISH ARMY Field Manual, Combined Visual Signaling Procedure
DESCRIPTION:Very unusual WWII US Military Manual for \"BRITISH OFFICIAL USE ONLY\", Basic Field Manual for combined visual signaling procedures. Dated May 12, 1943, and most notable that IT WAS SPECIFICALLY INTENDED FOR USE ONLY BY THE BRITISH ARMED FORCES.....RESTRICTED U.S. USE. Has to do with a variety of U.S. signaling protocol and procedures; probably meant to convey to British forces generally AND IN ADVANCE OF THE DDAY INVASION, so that communication between the allies in combat would be effective. VERY ESSENTIAL IN MILITARY SITUATIONS. Very scarce and desirable.
I have never seen an army manual SPECIFICALLY INTENDED FOR COOPERATIVE USE BETWEEN NATIONS AND ALLIES!!
This has very interesting text and describes in detail a variety of signalling methods, including Semaphore flags, Calling & Answering, Signalling by Flashing Light with Aircraft in Flight, etc., etc. IN GREAT DETAIL. Everything related to the subject and the specific subjects involved.
Hard to convey the full details in this listing, but you will find it extremely interesting. AND A GREAT, RARE ITEM FOR A COLLECTION OF BRITISH ITEMS, DDAY, or SIGNALLING, ETC.
29 pages. 6 chapters, with outlines for each. On the first page is a notation \"By Order of the Secretary of War\", and signed by Gen. George C. Marshall, Chief of Staff.
Definitely used, as pencilled letters next to the semaphore flags as shown.
In excellent condition overall.
