REGENCY MR-10 MONITOR RADIO - FM BAND Covers 152 to 174 MHz - Volume, Squelch, Tuning Controls ---- All that and looks too!!!TESTED and WORKINGNeat Looking and Very Retro Regency MR-10 FM Monitor Radio - American Made - Appears all original - Circa 1956? - Vivid turquoise naugahyde outer cover over aluminum cabinet shell in pretty good shape; aluminum dress face and illuminated glass dial. All original knobs - Some superficial imperfections on face from age - Chassis looks pretty good and appropriate for age - Small tear in speaker cone repaired ALL TUBES AND SHIELDS ARE PRESENT.----We put this on the bench, hooked it to the Variac, and brought the power up slowly and steadily. Everything that should light up lit up including the dial lamp.It produces signal output on strong channels (few exist in this area), including the weather band. In areas where more of this band is populated more stations may be received. Response seems audibly normal across the range. Radio does not appear to have been serviced, so expect that it may need updating and maintenance to perform at its best. Controls seem to work normally and are generally quiet, so we did not clean them. Hum seems pretty minimal, but all electrolytic and coupling caps appear to be original, so appropriate replacement may pay dividends in terms of noise floor and performance. Signal hum and hash between channels is pretty typical. On signal noise is not excessive; actually pretty clean on a good signal.----Use this as a monitor radio, or as a great looking mid-century tech/art piece, or both! We\'ve also seen photos of a few pretty cool guitar amp projects online that started life as one of these radios. The vivid turquoise grained naugahyde cover is really something to see. The soft-edged shape of the cabinet is right out of the space age; and the shiny aluminum face is pure late \'50\'s high design. From the days when even utility equipment had real style.
