Silverplated Russian Orthodox PriestPectoral cross,from Sofrino Moscow

This is a beautifulSt. Andrew's (three-barred) silver-plated(German silver, "melchior") Orthodoxpectoral cross. Thiscross was made at the official factory of the Russian Orthodox Patriarchal Church in the village ofSofrino near Moscow. As all items leaving the factory, thiscross was blessed.

The cross is4 3/4” high (12 cm.) and2 3/4" (almost 7 cm.)wide. It has a 48" (122 cm.) chain. The cross has an inscription in Church Slavonic on its back, it reads: “Be an example to the faithful by your word, life, love, spirit, faith and purity".Itis done in the shape of athree-barred cross.This cross comes in a nice gift box.
