Sansui Ba-3000 Amp - Pro Serviced, some parts - Sounds Excellent - Looks Good:
$2395.00

Big Baadd Ba - Royalty class in the vintage Sansui lineupProbably one of the top vintage amps in this price range. Sound quality, build quality, looks, collectability/investment. Definately one of top Sansui amps ever.Only for sale as I have stumbled onto another one, plus a B5K, plus correct CA3 preamp. Two of these is a bit excessive. If you haven\'t heard one of these with a decent preamp ahead of it, well - sound is personal, but i say its one of best solid state amps I\'ve heard. Using a $1000 tube preamp - either Eleket Tu-8500 or vintage Audible Illusions Modulus 2. A better preamp would probably be even sweeter.Am rating at 7.5 for cosmetics, as compared to several other untouched examples. A bit of touchup and would be an 8. Some light scratches on faceplate edges, and also few even smaller nicks on faceplate front. See photos. Not deep - so a bit of touchup paint would do quite a lot. Purple case has some wear spots mostly on rear top edge, but also a small scratch on top and couple of other blems.Rate the working condition and \"guts\" as solid 8, probably more like 8.5. Check out how clean it is inside - didn\'t clean this up, it came to me like so.Recently spent $350-400 with a very good vintage tech with specific experience on this model. I lost the bag of parts that were replaced, but was a substantial quantity. Would have been more like $500-700 at normal shop rates. My tech says I should keep this one, as its much better shape inside than many of the ones hes seen.Couple things to note on the B3 - compared to the mighty holy grail Ba-5000, the B3 actually has a couple of advantages.According to my tech...\"the BA3000 is a direct connection to the output which is why it sounds much more musical (than Ba5000) up to its power limitation...similar to why a Bryston 3BSST2 sounds better than the $10,000pair T28B mono blocs do up to its power limitation\"
...\"the Ba5000 uses an output transformer for load balancing and you don\'t get more power from a 4 ohm load over an 8 ohm, and I find you lose some low end tightness with a transformer\"..also as regards.the matching Sansui preamp..\"the CA3000 is a bit saggy\"...So...for absolute sound quality, possibly the B3K has the better sound?...Sound is personal, so not making promises.Interesting the the B5K wont put out more than its 300 watts into 4 ohms. Not sure what the 3K will do into 4?If one really needed 300 watts a side into 8 ohms..maybe a pair of B3K running as monoblocs would be a better sound than a single B5K? You get 340 a side that way. If I dont sell this one soon/at all, I\'ll have a chance to try this myself - not that I have any speakers that need the power, but for the heck of it.It is handy that this amp is bridgeable - simple flick of a switch to mono. The B5K also will do this (600 watts a side wowzers). But I don\'t think a Ba2000 will??Is light enough (barely) to use Canada Post so wont be too horrible as to shipping costs. I know how to pack stuff - typically 5 layers, double boxed with 1 in styrofoam board between layers. Will be asking a bit for packing materials.Shipping - Note that the $190 is an estimate. And it includes aprox $25 for packing materials, and full insurance (for loss only as per Canada Post policies). Insurance adds $30 or so. Anyhow, if my estimate turns out high, I\'ll refund the difference. If substantially low, i may ask you to top up.No returns or refunds if shipped. For what it`s worth - you`re dealing with a serious audio head and collector - I didnt`find this at a garage sale or Uncle Ernies estate. And I don\'t make goofy claims that $300 gear sounds \"amazing\". I`ve been fooling with vintage audio very seriously for years now, and have bought and listened to probably 80-100 different amps by now. In my experience, so far - this amp is in the top 10 for sound (with a better quality tube preamp), and more like top 5 factoring in collectability, build quality and looks. Claim/Disclaim: - I\'m not a Sansui expert or any other expert, so i may wander out of bounds - forgive, forget, correct or scold as suits.Note- if you have less than 10 response score you need to contact me before offerding please. Just need to know we\'re communicating - some issues in the past with new ers, which cost me money and time.

No refunds or returns on vintage gear like this.

Payment expected within 24 hours, unless we negotiate otherwise. If not, may go to next buyer and/or report as bad transaction. Nothing personal, but been burned a few too many times.

No international shipping - none. Canada and mainland USA only. If you\'re somewhere else on the blue orb, find a place here in N America that will forward it to you. I ship to them, they to you. And do that before offerding please.

May take 20-30 days to ship, as I work away from home and am not immediately available to the equipment to pack it up - and it will take me about 2-3 hours on this one. If you\'re the impatient type, come and pickup in 2 weeks, or do not offer. Its best i can do.

Note - I have this advertised locally as well. It is possible that this ad may disappear without notice, if i sell elsewhere. Be assured though that if you Buy It Now or make an offer that I accept (you must be notified of my acceptance) - I will certainly deliver the goods. Upon payment of course.
