Up for consideration is a 1980s Selmer alto clarinet with the serial number A96XX and matches on both joints. This Selmer is a beautiful horn only it has markings which removed serial numbers in four (4) places. You can clearly see this in the pictures - neck, top joint near logo, bottom joint near length-wise key stack and the back side of the bell. Other than these marking removals, the horn is in great condition especially considering its age.As for the instrument, this one is a player. Very centered tone and classical sound. The pads are in playable condition and most likely original. This alto has barely been played and you can see that the blued steel springs are intact throughout the horn. The grenadilla wood has a very dark color. There are no cracks at all. The mechanism is very tight. There is some clouding of the nickel finish on the keys and bell conducive with age. Included is an older Leblanc hard rubber alto clarinet mouthpiece with a ligature and Selmer cap (see the hard rubber discoloration in the photo for age - the mouthpiece is valued at $100 easily). Also, a case is included from an older Selmer Paris alto clarinet. The case is in great condition but with most of the leather trim missing. This sale is being listed as a sale and being sold as-is with no returns. This is a fine alto clarinet that I personally play tested. It would make a great addition to a doubler\'s arsenal or to fill out your alto section in band. Please feel free to ask any questions. No international buyers, no exceptions
