Up for sale is one of the highly coveted, 5 digit, 1961 Selmer Mark VI tenor saxophones.  The serial number is 96,xxx and has 50% of the original laq. remaining.  If you don\'t mind a horn that has a little playing wear, but are more focused on the sound and resonance, this is the horn for you!  I\'ve sold and owned a lot of vi\'s over the last 5 years and it is very seldom that you find one with that special \"IT\" factor to it… and this one has it!  I purchased this horn from a good friend of mine who has equally owned at least 100 different vi tenors and he agreed that this was one of the best tenors he\'s ever played.  It just plays with an absolute huge sound that is incredibly even from top to bottom.  You can really push this horn as had as you want and the sound never breaks up or gives out on you with just the right amount of resistance to lean into.  It comes with it\'s original neck with matching serial number that has been gold plated to give that extra sparkle to the sound. I\'ve had the sax fully set up and it feels like butter in your hands; very lightning fast action.  The pads are also in great shape and are no more than 2 years old and the sax comes with oversized brass, resotech resonators. Aside from the laq. wear, the horns body is in great shape and there has been no past resolders and the neck has also never seen any damage or past pull downs.  It comes with a vintage selmer try-pack case that has a separate clarinet and flute compartment that is in good shape.
