1970\'s Selmer Paris Mark VI Alto Saxophone in original silver plate
Serial number 221.xxxx from 1974.This is a vintage Mark VI saxophone that has been very well looked after and ingreat condition for its age, it has a beautiful sound and has been fully overhauled last month by one of the best Dutch saxophone technicians, so is in perfect playing condition as well.
As you can see from the pictures, most of the silver plate is intact with just a few spots of wear, mainlyon the edge oftouch pieces and keys. The pearls are all in good condition, as is the original case it comes in.
This is a saxophone which has been used so there are some signs of playing wear, a few scratches and marks here and there (as shown in the pictures). The overall impression is very good visually, everything is original and complete with the high F# key. Technical condition is very good as well, no play on the keys or rods. Body is straight and no signs of past damage other than a resolder to one foot on the B/Bflat keyguard. Neck in great condition as well with no signs of pull down
This later Mark VI serial number has a bit more of a modern sound, more focussed and powerful but lots of character(like David Sanborn or Dave Koz), with great intonation and very well balanced from bottom to top.
