Original very rare small Dutch Friesian tail clock, Friesian tail clocks originated in the Provence of Friesland in the north of the Netherlands. Long clock building tradition in Friesland. Various varieties have been made. Clocks used to have a runner over the roof. The clock runners where on top of the clock to prevent dust to settle on top, top was made of cloth with the old clocks which made it hard to remove the dust. The runners had various themes. This clock’s features are:

• Gorgeous oak case. Tag on the backdoor with Warmink brand.
  
• Nice hand painted dial with Dutch landscape and floral ornaments.
  
• Moon phase dial, set to your local moon phase it will keep track of the various stages of the moon. Moon calendar, moon cycle takes 29.5 days can be seen above the moon.
  
• Brass ornament in the tail of father time, at his feet there is an owl, and an hour glass next to him. Father time is pointing his finger as a warning to humanity that time is going on in a fast pace. The owl represents wisdom and the hourglass represents time marching on. The rooster is lifting the curtain of time representing the transitoriness of time. Behind him the pendulum can be seen swinging.
  
• Statues on top of Atlas and 2 angels tooting their horns, with a little mirror in the other hand. According to Greek mythology; Atlas carries the kingdom of heaven on his shoulder as a punishment for his pride for fighting Zeus, that way he is preventing heaven to fall down on earth. Atlas is also the God of Astronomy that explains somewhat the presence on clocks .
  
• 8 day clockwork in running condition.
  
• Chimes the half and the full hour on a bell.
  
• 2 long weights, clock is wound by pulling up the weights.
  
• Small openings on the sides of the clock with ajour cut inserts.
  
• 1980s old.
  
• Signs of use. Some scratches, a few small dents. Piece of fretwork missing.(see picture) But in general in excellent condition.
  
• It hangs Appr.31.5\" or 80 cm tall (including statues) and 9.5\" or 24 cm wide and 6\" or 15 cm deep.
